Nothing compares to the feeling of loss that comes from falling in love with the works of an author no longer with us. I felt that sense of immense grief when I discovered the joy from Christie’s writing. Sounds like a paradox — but such is the life of a bookworm. You can imagine my exaltation at discovering Sophie Hannah’s work — Poirot lives! I bought Killings at Kingfisher with the enthusiasm of a 5-year-old unleashed on a candy store.
